'Mass Freakout' will be Liverpool's first true independent music festival in twenty years. The freakout is staged over three days, October the 8th to the 10th, at the now legendary Kazimier club, Wolstenholme Square. It will be a celebration of Liverpool's rich underground scene, veering from Krautrock and psychedelia to folk and hardcore. The line-up includes SSS, Hot Club de Paris, the International and Clinic, who will headline each of the three nights. 'Mass Freakout also features costumes, revelations, the world's smallest medieval battle reenactment society and a giant prop. The final night will bring together Liverpool's music and skate scenes to celebrate Lost Art's 10th year of existence. In all, Liverpool's first 21st Century mindblower.

Edinburgh gig cancelled

Attention: open in a new window. E-mail

Due to last minute complications and with great regret we have to announce the cancellation of the show in Edinburgh on 29th August. Here's a statement from the promoters:

"We've just been informed by the venue that there's now an extra show booked in at 3pm on Saturday so our window to get pa added to and monitors in place is now shut. This would mean having to get everything done between midnight and doors opening, and to be honest I think that for once we may have to accept defeat in the face of adversity on this one - despite us getting Vox AC30 and Fender Devilles etc in place.

We're very, very pissed off about this situation, as I hope you can appreciate, because as much as anything we were so looking forward to you guys playing at the club (you are pretty much our favourite Bang Bang band). But with the latest constrictions, and your existing reservations over the sound etc, we think it's perhaps best to cancel. If you're ok with this then what we'd like to do is ask you guys to come up here later in the year when we're in position at our regular monthly venue. Then we can 100 per cent gaurantee everything you require is provided without compromise and we can all enjoy a really special gig and club night.

Again, we can't stress enough how unhappy we are at this outcome but we hope you can understand, appreciate our honesty, and come up here to play for us in the perfect setting sooner rather than later."
